Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Viticultura Duriense (ADVID), an association dedicated to viticulture in the Douro region of Portugal, has organized a workshop dedicated to Tinta Roriz (as Tempranillo is known in Portugal), at which cultural, winemaking and genetic preservation aspects of the variety were debated. There was also a discussion panel at which wine experts of repute and RDD agronomists provided personal testimony about their work on Tinta Roriz.
This event is over, but check out the photos below. The speakers included TAPAS founder Earl Jones; Prof. Nuno Magalhães (Professor Emérito da UTAD); and Tomás Roquette (Administrator of Quinta do Crasto, S.A.). Panelists include over fifteen viticulturists and enologists from the region. For more information visit the ADVID website or see the event flyer.
