On June 21, 2011, Pavle Milic, Food and Wine Geek and co-owner of FnB Restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ, hosted a dinner featuring TAPAS member Kent Callaghan of Callaghan Vineyards, along with some wines that inspired him or sparked his curiosity.

Mike Dunne, author of A Year in Wine, attended the Amador County Fair on June 4 and the TAPAS Grand Wine Tasting on June 5.  He picked some favorite whites at both events - all from TAPAS members!

a lively tapas spot

Chef James Campbell Caruso, of La Boca Restaurant in Santa Fe, Nuevo Mexico, was featured in the Wall Street Journal's "Santa Fe/Taos Long Weekend Guide."  

La Boca is a tapas restaurant/wine bar featuring a Spanish-inspired menu, and has won almost every local award in Santa Fe. La Boca was chosen “Santa Fe’s Best Tapas” by Travel and Leisure and has been featured on "Giada's Weekend Getaways" on the Food Network.

Working with La Boca's Wine Director, Adam Johnson, Chef Caruso was one of only five finalists vying to represent the U.S. in the 2011 Copa Jerez food and Sherry pairing competition. This event is sponsored by the Sherry Council in Jerez, Spain, and includes national chef-sommelier teams from around the world with their most innovative recipes and Sherry pairings. Chef Caruso was also a James Beard nominee for Best Chef in the Southwest in every year from 2006-2010.

Chef Caruso will be doing a demonstration and serving a tapa at the TAPAS 2011 Grand Wine Tasting - coming up this Sunday, June 5!  For tickets, visit tapas4.eventbrite.com .
