Downtown Winters businesses join in the Harvest Festival Celebration
On Friday, October 25, businesses in downtown Winters, California will be taking part in the Harvest Festival celebration. Local producers will be selling fresh produce, eggs, olive oil, honey and more. Resident arts and crafts people will offer handmade candles, soaps, lotions, cards and other unique products that would make ideal gifts this holiday season. The Winters FFA will have their pumpkins for sale in time for Halloween. Live music at the Harvest Festival will be provided by local bluegrass and country favorites, the “Miss Lonely Hearts.”
Visual and performance artist Matthew Harrel will be out in front of RootStock showcasing his art. Matthew is know as the "coffee artist" - he has several amazing paintings all created using liquid coffee, made from a variety of coffee bean types to vary the brown-black tones. In September, Matthew participated in the Winters celebration of Tempranillo known as "Tempfest" and used the Spanish wine Tempranillo to create his art.
This Friday, October 25 from 5:30-8pm Matt will have a booth in front of Rootstock demonstrating his art techniques and offering the public a chance to participate in the process of creating coffee art. TAPAS member Berryessa Gap Vineyards hosts its final Sunset Summer Series street food event to coincide with the Harvest Festival. Anderson Family Catering will be cooking on the street in front of Berryessa Gap Vineyard’s downtown location. Anderson Family Catering will be cooking up Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip, Saucy Pinquito Beans and Grilled Garlic Bread. Sunset Summer Series, held on the last Friday of the month from July to October, was organized in cooperation with The Buckhorn’s last Friday “Street Meat” and RootStock’s music series. While this will be the final street side series of events for 2013, all of the participants are looking forward to continuing and extending the popular events in 2014.
